What is THC

What is THC and what does it do?

What is THC? Or Tetrahydrocannabinol to give it its proper name is one of about 113 Cannabinoids found in the Cannabis Plant. It is responsible for most of Cannabis’s psychological effects and is the reason Cannabis gets you “High”. That intoxicating euphoric feeling is all thanks to THC the wonderful molecule found in Cannabis

What is THC and how does it work? Well THC is inhaled as smoke or ingested (may take longer) and pretty instantly the chemicals travel through the body reaching the bloodstream. From here the chemicals travel instantly to the Brain and start to take effect. Please note THC in the Cannabis plant is present as THCA (tetrahydrocannabinolic acid) until it is exposed to heat which then turns it into THC. This process is called decarboxylation.

What is THC and what is the Endocannabinoid System?

What is THC
How does THC Work?

As soon as the THC molecules or cannabinoids enter the brain a wonderful Chemical reaction takes place. The Endocannabinoid System is where all the magic takes place. Everyone was born with and Endocannabinoid System (including mammals) and it is basically a mass of Cannabinoid receptors that regulate bodily functions. They can be found throughout the brain and the central nervous system. In the brain and central nervous system they are called called CB1 receptors. CB2 receptors are located in the peripheral organs and associated with the immune system.

In particular CB1 receptors are concentrated in the area of the brain that deal with pleasure, thinking, memory, pain, appetite, coordination and time perception. THC binds perfectly to these CB1 receptors and causes a number of different effects. The true science behind THC is quite amazing and not many people know that the human body makes its very own natural Cannabinoids. That interact with the CB1 and CB2 receptors keeping the body in tip top condition and regulating it perfectly. How amazing that THC fits perfectly into these receptors that the human body already has.

THC acts like a key in a lock. It fits perfectly into Cannabinoid receptors and triggers chemical reactions all over the body. Releasing a chemical called dopamine. Dopamine is a feel good chemical that causes euphoria and a feeling of happiness. Ever wondered why THC causes the munchies? Well now you have your answer. THC acts on the CB1 receptor that controls appetite and can trigger it into thinking your hungry. The same goes for memory. Ever sat and smoked and lost your short term memory? Well guess what that again is down to the CB1 receptors in your brain being stimulated by THC.

What is THC and does THC have Medical properties?

What is THC
THC as a Medicine

THC is slowly becoming more recognised as a Medical treatment. Due to it’s brilliant ability to act on the Endocannabinoid System. It has great natural powers that stimulate CB1 and CB2 receptors. In turn these receptors will send signals out to the rest of the body. THC can be used to relieve pain, nausea, anorexia, movement disorders, glaucoma, epilepsy, asthma, inflammation disorders and many more. Also recent studies suggest THC can be used to treat alcohol dependency and other drug addictions.

The human body also produces it’s own version of THC called Anandamide. Anandamide is still a bit of a mystery but exists in all humans. It is the chemical responsible for forgetting things. Yes that’s correct it basically regulates the brain into only remembering what it needs to. For example you wouldn’t want to remember all the people you walked past in the street or everyone on the bus to work. Anandamide filters out un-needed clutter that the brain doesn’t need.

What is THC and where do I get it from?

THC for centuries now has been used as a recreational drug and a Medical drug. It comes from the Cannabis plant and is an age old remedy for many illnesses. As the World wakes up to THC as a medicine many people will be able to relive their suffering and treat themselves. THC unlike CBD is illegal in most countries still to this day. Laws are relaxing and America are leading the way with state laws allowing the consumption of Medical Marijuana. Hopefully one day THC will be recognised as a great Medicine and be used to treat people who really need it.

420 Cannabis Seeds UK sell a wide range of high THC Cannabis Seeds. In certain countries they can not be grown as the law states so. Please be aware of your own countries laws reading Cannabis cultivation. We do ship all our Cannabis Seeds Worldwide as souvenirs.
